Customer Service Victory
This week I ordered a pack of county fair Field Notes notebooks from a online retailer I had never used before. I simply searched on Google Shopping for the particular notebooks I was looking for as they can be pretty hard to find here in the UK.
Honestly when I visited the site I wasn’t overly impressed. It’s a pretty simple set up but pricing was good and the delivery dates were competitive. After a quick search on where they were located, Glasgow if you’re interested, I was happy it seemed genuine and placed my order.
So far pretty normal nothing majorly different to the online experience from any other retailer.
I am really a stickler for customer service and being treated well throughout a purchase more so because I think this is something which is becoming rare. So when I received the below email from my chosen online retailer I was pleasantly surprised and pleased by its personal nature. Below are some extracts from the email I received.
Firstly, many thanks for your order, it will be dispatched tomorrow and should be with you by in the next 2-3 days.

Now there is nothing groundbreaking here but its personal. It’s a simply worded email but as a result I understand more about their business. I get the impression they want me as the customer to be happy with my order. This simple email which probably took less than 2 minutes to compose or set up has meant that I am now engaged and I am interested in this online retailer. I will probably purchase through them again, you can see i have left in their information above on purpose.
As I said in my opinion this is rare and doesn’t often happen in my opinion so I wanted to take some time myself and acknowledge it.
Time for change
Yesterday I made a very big personal decision. I moved away from my iPhone and am currently writing this post using my new HTC one. The HTC is a beautiful phone and when you looking at the iPhone next to this the iPhone looks like a toy. It’s going to take some getting used to for sure but this phone does tick some boxes so far.
Screen size and resolution are brilliant, like loads better than the iPhone! Sound is amazing! The front facing speakers and beats audio really make a difference and I haven’t even tested this properly. The apps don’t seem to be an issue yet, everything I’m used to I have found so far.
As this only day one these are my initial impressions. I will give another update soon and let you know how im getting on.
I have been an iPhone user for around 4 years. I own an iPad and a mac. I am happy with the latter, the former not so much.
I am thinking about moving over and buying a HTC One. Everything I read is really positive but as I have never been an android user I am a bit nervous. So I am putting it to the people of tumblr to give me some opinions.
Should I go with a a HTC One phone or would it be the wrong move?
